3 Key Takeaways from Integrating Workfront + AEM Webinar

Kim Melton • Nov 30, 2021

Last month, we hosted a webinar discussing five ways you can use the Workfront AEM integration. Adam Driggs, Hoodoo’s Vice President of Solutions, walked us through 5 of the most common use cases we see for this type of integration. While the webinar touched on each of these 5 unique use cases, there were some unique takeaways that helped businesses explore how this type of integration could be useful for their teams. We’ve highlighted three of those takeaways below.

  1. An Adobe Workfront + Adobe Experience Manager integration is tremendously versatile: While we only went through five real-world applications of this type of integration, there are many other use cases. More importantly, integrating these two platforms isn’t a one-size-fits-all endeavor. Your implementation should be built for your business’ specific use case. This will allow your team to optimize their efficiency in the way that makes the most sense for your business. Often times a consultant can help you establish the best practices and methodologies for your business.

  2. Information sharing across platforms is one of the most powerful tools of this integration: By allowing these two systems to communicate, you seamlessly propagate efforts in one system to the other. The most obvious benefit of this is reducing redundant work; however, there are more benefits that aren’t immediately obvious. The first is that the propagation of data across systems reduces the margin for error. If your team doesn’t have to manually enter data from one system to the next, the likelihood that errors will be made in the copying process is low. Additionally, this can help with managing asset versioning across systems. This allows you to maintain the most current version of your asset in AEM while still maintaining previous versions in Workfront. These are just some of the more common benefits of information sharing between the two platforms, but as each business can find unique benefits from information sharing that applies to their unique use case.

  3. Your implementation partner is critical to helping you quickly achieve success: There are many nuanced best practices to integrating Workfront and AEM that can help you put this integration to work more quickly and effectively. This includes things like understanding your workflows in the context of how they’ll impact AEM, setting up the systems to share the appropriate and most helpful information, establishing processes that capitalize on how the system was built, or building the system to match your current processes. Using the right implementation partner who understands both the consulting and the development sides can be one of the key factors that helps your business be successful. As the original creators of the Workfront + AEM connector, Hoodoo Digital is uniquely positioned to help businesses implement and capitalize on this integration.

These are the key takeaways from the webinar, but there are 5 unique use cases that we did not touch on in this blog that you may find useful to explore. You can learn more about them in our
on-demand webinar, or by skimming through the webinar transcript. Are you looking for an implementation partner who knows the ins and outs of a Workfront + AEM integration?
