How to Optimize Your Site for SEO

Sara Wetmore • Jul 28, 2022

There are two types of search engines available to companies today: search engines that search the internet as a whole for information related to the search terms (these are search engines like Google or Bing) and search engines that are built into a website to help users find information on that site specifically (like Cludo).

These search engines function by crawling your site (examining the code), indexing the content so it can display in search results, and then ranking that indexed content based on its perceived value to others.

When you put in a lot of effort to redo your website, whether it’s a redesign or migration to a new CMS, it’s important that your web pages and content can be found by these search engines. The best way to do this is to provide many valuable pieces of content for web crawlers to index. Indexed content is then searchable by both external search engines (like Google), and site-specific search engines, like Cludo.

According to this blog post from Cludo, to increase the perceived value of your content, you need to invest in keyword research, creating (and maintaining) high-quality content, collecting backlinks from reputable sites, and establishing technical SEO indicators like site speed, mobile view, and an organized sitemap.

At Hoodoo Digital, we make sure to consider these factors while creating your AEM website, and we have also built the Cludo Connector to integrate your AEM site with Cludo, ensuring your site is optimized for both internal and external search engines. Contact us to discuss how we can help you integrate Cludo, a robust user interface for elastic search on your site to increase your website’s visibility and value today.
